Ulrika Bogö was born in Kalmar, in the south of Sweden in 1971. At the age of twenty she moved to France to follow her lifelong dream of a career in fashion. Ulrika studied for four years, designed womenswear in France and Italy for a further five years, then moved to London in the spring of 2000 with the idea of setting up her own company.
In 2002 her dream became reality. After two years as an assistant to a London wedding dress designer, she began to realise the demand for simple, understated flowergirls dresses in high quality fabrics. It was then that she struck out on her own to establish the Ulrika Bogö design company. The idea was to provide made-to-measure silk dresses for girls between the ages of one and twelve.
The company proved an immediate success, attracting widespread praise from You And Your Wedding, Brides,Wedding Day, Red and Junior magazines – all within the first year of production.
Ulrika Bogö’s long career in French, Italian and Scandinavian fashion design has produced a unique, instantly recognizable brand. The company moves from strength to strength as Ulrika continues to reinterpret vintage designs with a fresh and modern edge.
